It is currently 5:40 a.m. and I am laying in bed looking at Instagram posts…….🤭🤦♀️
Why am I awake???!!!
It has been 2 weeks of ‘wedded bliss’ for my husband and I. And in these 2 weeks we have been hit with some tough moments already. If I ever doubted that the devil hates marriage, I know the truth now.
Marriage is no walk in the park! It requires intentionality from both partners. You have to choose to love each other, choose to accept each other’s flaws, choose to hold fast to your vows……
For richer or poorer, For better or worse….
God keeps reminding me of my vows and it has really made me appreciate the beauty of His design.
God instituted marriage and He holds us to the covenant that we made – something I have learned to be grateful for. Because when the storms come, your greatest strength comes from that 3rd cord……
I pray for marriages today, because the enemy is busy….he is indeed prowling like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour.
And I declare today that Christian marriages shall not be devoured!! In Jesus’ name.
My husband and I are standing by our vows, praying together more and spending intentional time together more too, because even though our marriage is fresh, the plan is to separate us and cause us to ‘fall out of love’.
Not this marriage in Jesus’s name!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥*tongues* 🔥🔥🔥🔥
To end this post, I would like to encourage all persons hoping to get married soon:
Marriage is AMAZING!!!!
It is beautiful, it is fun and you get to spend the rest of your life with your best friend ❤
But my greatest encouragement to you is:
Mean your vows when you say it.
The world likes to make divorce seem like some kinda ‘easy escape route’. But lemme tell you – Don’t even let divorce be an option.
Say your vows with all your heart.
You will be tested. But all you have to do is:
This is a picture frame that we bought and hung up (we are going to put one of our wedding pics in it!). But the message keeps jumping out at me as a reminder:
No matter the circumstances or how you feel. God is able to bring you through it. It is temporary.
And that is what God does too! He loves us unconditionally. What we do doesn’t affect His love for us. He is our example.
May we walk in His footsteps.
Peace and blessings
